What is the best way to communicate with your customers?

A survey conducted by Pitney-Bowes of consumers, re. How they preferred getting “relationship nurturing communications” as well as new offers from companies they knew or had done business with…. rankings:

34% Paper and ink, direct mail
30% Print ads (in media they read)
25% TV
5% Radio
4% E-Mail
2% Internet (websites)


What do consumers prefer about direct mail? 82% surveyed liked being in control by deciding what to open and read, 70% felt it was more “secure”, private and non-intrusive. Source: DIRECT 8/02. Surveyed by Peppers & Rogers Group.
